Yogurt-Cucumber Sauce Recipe - Cooking Index
The perfect accompaniment to grilled lamb.
Type: Sauces1 teaspoon | 5ml | Tomato - peeled, seeded (small) |
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Cucumber - peeled, seeded (medium) |
1/2 cup | 118ml | Plain yogurt |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Finely-chopped onion |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Garlic clove - minced (small) |
1 tablespoon | 15ml | Snipped fresh parsley |
= (or 1 tspn dried parsley flakes) | ||
1/2 teaspoon | 2.5ml | Snipped fresh mint |
= (or 1/4 tspn dried mint leaves, crushed) | ||
1 | Salt |
Finely chop tomato; drain well. Grate cucumber; drain well.
In a small bowl stir together remaining ingredients. Stir in tomato and cucumber. Chill 1 hour. Serve with grilled lamb.
This recipe yields sauce for 8 servings.
